5 Resolutions to Keep
If you’re anything like many of us ambitious people, you start the year with some pretty audacious goals and intentions.
You know what generally happens when the year gets into gear? Life. It just happens. Maybe you’re well on your way and are completely smashing your goals. Or, maybe you haven’t even glanced at them since you wrote them. Wherever you find yourself on the achievement spectrum - halfway there, nowhere close, or nailing it - here’s a little push to help you focus on getting things done this year.
Whether you’re starting your own business, finishing school, trying to be a better mom or wife, or simply working on being the best version of yourself, take an inhale of a list of practices to resolve to keep.
1. Say NO, so you can offer your best yes! What’s your best yes? One that honors your priorities and aids in your focus on what’s important.
2. Focus. It’s the only way to get to your goals. They require your undivided attention. Get up early, actually calendar your intentions, and say no to a social gathering or two.
3. Prioritize your health. Truthfully, the only way to really live your best life is to be at your best. Start small, but whatever you do - start. Maybe just drink more water and say no to soda for 30 days. You may need to pee 5 millions times a day, but your body will thank you and you’ll feel better for it!
4. Make your priorities a priority. When everything is important, nothing really is. Put them on your calendar and honor the commitments you make to yourself.
5. Your oxygen mask, first. In other words, taking care of yourself has to be intentional and a priority. There’s no way to pour anything from an empty cup. Many of us are used to running on fumes. That’s not the way God intended for us to live. Don’t believe the lie that you should care for everyone else first. It’s an ineffective strategy and a sure way to burn out.
You’ve got this! Keep going or get started!
Keep going,
